The Dimplex FXL storage heater comes in two different models the FXL18 and the FXL24 the main difference between the models is 2.55kW and 3.4kW, each wattage is suitable for a different sized room.

Many people ask how storage heater work, storage heaters work by pull electricity and power during the night time tariffs and storing them in heat storage bricks. The heat bricks in the Dimplex FXL retain 2.5 more heat than conventional storage heaters.

The core discharge in the Dimplex FXL is achieved by a low noise centrifugal type fan drawing air through the hot core. As it draws the air it heats it and then pushes it out into the room and space around the heater, filling the room with hot moving air. The core discharge is switched on by the room thermostat to allow heat output on demand.

Automatic charging is regulated by a unique system which monitors both the room temperature and the state of the storage core. By monitoring the temperature of the room and the state of the bricks the Dimplex FXL is more intelligent and economic than other storage heaters.

The Dimplex FXL storage heater also comes with a boost heating setting. Provided by a supplementary element which will only operate when the core heat is exhausted, this will temperately draw more power at the current tariff to give a quick boost.

With its ease of use and simple design the Dimplex FXL is perfect for economic homes that wish to make the most of the cheaper night tariffs. Unlike other storage heaters the Dimplex FXL range offers both a storage heater and the benefit of a fan heater to provide added boost.

Different Types Of Heating

Different Types Of Heating

There are many different heaters to choose from, however all heaters falls into four different categories. Each category of heating has its own advantages and disadvantages, it is always important to ensure to choose the correct type of heating for your home or business.

Firstly it is important to understand why the choice of heater can have such an impact. In the end it comes down to not power, but where the heater is and how it is used. For example if you have a large living room or office you do not want a heater that only heats directly in front of it. On the other hand to keep a section of room warm and be economic you do not want a heater which will fill the room with heat.

The first type of heater, the most common, is the convector heater. In a convection heater, the heating element heats the air next to it by conduction. Hot air is less dense than cool air, so it rises due to buoyancy, allowing more cool air to flow in to take its place. This sets up a constant current of hot air that leaves the appliance through vent holes and heats up the surrounding space.

The second type is the radiant heater. Radiant heaters contain a heating element that reaches a high temperature. The element is usually packaged inside a glass envelope resembling a light bulb and with a reflector to direct the energy output away from the body of the heater.

The third type is the storage heaters. A storage heating system takes advantage of cheaper electricity prices, sold during low demand periods such as overnight.

The final type of heating is the A fan heater is a variety of convection heater that includes an electric fan to speed up the airflow. This reduces the thermal resistance between the heating element and the surroundings, allowing heat to be transferred more quickly.

It is possible to have heaters which combine different types of heater together to increase the power for use of a heater. An example would be a storage heater with a boot option; the boost option is normally an extra fan which temperately turns on to boost the heat in the room.

The advantage of having multiple types of heating built into one is the increased versatility. Whereas most heating types have their limitations, by combining heating methods and types you remove restrictions that would normally cost a heater.

You must take into account where the heater will be placed. Heaters that are not in direct view need to spread the warmth in the room and not heat directly. If you choose a high powered heater and misuse how it was indented you can put yourself at risk.

With a height of 440mm, width of 690mm and a depth of only 70mm the Dimplex LVA191 Living Art Display is ideal for fitting in a living room, dining room or rooms of comfort and relaxation.  With unparalleled design and style the Dimplex LVA191 is ideal for around the modern home.

In our tests we found that the Dimplex LVA191 Living Art Display was heavy and had to be wall mounted. This may pose an issue for the elderly or anyone that wishes to move the heater. However it was designed as an art piece to be kept in one place. The control over the Dimplex LVA191 was fantastic; it was easy to change any of settings via the remote control or even on the inbuilt controls.

The one issue with all fan heaters is the noise they make due to the moving fan part, we had worries over the fact the Dimplex LVA191 has two twin fans that the noise would be very noticeable. We were surprised by the super quiet running of the fans. However if you do turn off the audio you can hear the hum of the fans when close by. It is suggested for the best effect of this heater to have some soft background noise, with the inbuilt speakers this is easy to achieve.

Another key point was the low 1.2kW output. The heater was powerful for a small sized standard room in a house or flat. However in a conservatory or un-insulated area the heater will suffer from heat loss.

To buy the Dimplex LVA191 Living Art Display visit e-tradecounter.co.uk – Dimplex LVA191 Living Art.

Dimplex JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater

Dimplex JCB Heavy Duty Fan HeaterOne issue builders and other tradesmen has always been the requirement to keep warm in the winter. Working in or building a house without any heating or warmth. Dimplex has answered the requirement with what they call the JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater. The idea behind the Fan Heater was very simple, a durable, portable and effective heater for indoor use.

The Dimplex JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater has been constructed with steel front and rear fascia. The JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater is clearly designed to withstand the shocks and breaks in any situation. Unlike other heavy duty fan heaters the Dimplex JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater is not an eye sore. Designed with simple principles, the JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater achieves all of these with flying colours.

Dimplex claim the JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater is idea for around the work place or in the garage. Testing the Dimplex claim we have taken the JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater to our garage for the day. The first thing we notice is the length of cable. Two meters of cable meant we had no reason to be literally sitting on the heater.

The Dimplex JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater

was designed to be portable, and portable it is. With its small size and integral carry handles the JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater was a breeze to move around without any issues. The small size meant we could position the fan heater pretty much where ever we could position our self.

As the JCB heater is a fan heater this meant the heat would flow around the room. Fan heaters use an internal fan to force the around the room. Sadly in larger areas this technology was not as reliable as others. We were about to have the JCB on the other side of the garage and still notice the heat. However in a large open area it may not have been enough.

At first we were disappointed with the lack of an upgrade. The only option was the 3kW fan heater. We then saw the price of the heater and saw it was not designed as the ultimate solution to masses of workers. It was designed to be simple. A small group or team would happily be supported and kept warm by the JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater.

With its frost protection and choice of heat settings we were highly impressed by the overall performance of the Dimplex JCB Heavy Duty Fan Heater. With its low price and high levels of portability the JCB was easy to use in all situations and affordable.

You can buy the Dimplex JCB Fan Heater from e-tradecounter.co.uk
